RHYTHMS OF CUBA & THE CARIBBEAN INCLUDING THE PANAMA CANALWEST COAST CRUISE AND TRAVEL CENTRE FULLY ESCORTED CRUISE TOUR06 NOVEMBER 2019     25 GLORIOUS DAYS

Change is afoot in Cuba but for now at least it remains a wonderful mix of colourful revolutionary history, faded colonial mansions,
vintage cars, glistening Caribbean beaches, incredibly friendly people and everywhere the sounds and rhythms of Afro-Cuban music.
Discovered by Italian explorer Christopher Columbus on his journey to the Americas in 1492, Cuba has at times belonged to both the
Spanish and British Crowns and was even briefly ruled by the U.S. military before gaining independence in 1902. Political corruption and a series of despotic rulers culminated in the overthrow of the dictator Batista and so began the Cuban revolution led by Fidel Castro.

Discover the secrets of Cuban rum, roll your Cuban cigar and enjoy dinners at Paladares ( small family run restaurants in the homes of local Cubans). Beginning in Havana we explore the colonial streets, discovering  the city’s colourful culture and learning the compelling history of the country. We then visit Vinales, a town in western Cuba whose main street is lined with colourful colonial-era wooden houses.

There is time to reflect on the Cuban revolution at the  Che Guevara monument in Santa Clara. And in historic Trinidad there is time to relax and enjoy a night of music with the locals as well and a home cooked meal.

In UNESCO listed Cienfuegos discover the large boulevards and fascinating French architecture before a leisurely afternoon cruising the infamous Bay of Pigs.

Following our return to Havana we fly to Barbados and board Royal Clipper to cruise the Caribbean and Panama Canal. A spectacular cruise on the small intimate 227 passenger clipper. The world’s largest square rigger in service with her compliment of 42 sails, Royal Clipper is a splendid sight, boasting state-of -the-art navigation systems and all of the comforts of today.

For cruise connoisseurs, the 134 metre Royal Clipper offers the ultimate sea going experience, balancing the grandeur and tradition of sailing with the superb service, amenities and accommodation of the finest modern yacht.

A journey of Discovery not to be missed, call us on 9335 4322 for a first-hand account of what you can expect.
